About Laura Orzehoski

Laura Orzehoski is an NYC-based trombonist and a recent graduate of the Graduate Jazz Studies program at the Manhattan School of Music. She is also a graduate of Temple University, where she earned her Bachelor of Music. She graduated summa cum laude and was selected as the Boyer College of Music and Dance Class of 2024 Commencement Speaker.

 

Laura has performed at venues across the East Coast with her quartet, including Dizzy’s Late Night, the Montco Jazz Fest, and Chris’ Jazz Cafe. She has also recently presented her group as part of debut jazz nights at the historic Stonewall Inn in New York City and currently runs the monthly jazz jam there.

As a member of the Temple University Jazz Band, she performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Hall, the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, and Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center. At the Manhattan School of Music, she has performed the music of Aaron Diehl, Darcy James Argue, and Terri Lyne Carrington in the MSM Big Band alongside the composers. She is also one of the newest rotating members of the Future of Jazz Orchestra with Jazz at Lincoln Center.

In addition to her performance work, Laura collaborates regularly with the nonprofit Key of She, which supports young women and nonbinary musicians in pursuing careers in jazz.
